Twas
the night before Christmas
& all through the town,
there was snow covering everything
like a pretty fancy gown.
I was driving along enjoying
the beauty of the season,
also thinking I often smile
because I have the best of reason.
There was little traffic on the road
which helped as I flew,
I had a lot of places to visit
with kissys for my fluffy crew!
There are houses with big dogs
and some where they are small,
there are many houses with cats
altho some are not friendly at all.
Doesn't matter to me-
I have a soft spot for the shy,
I need them to feel kindness
so I continue to try.
I love all my fluffy buddies
whether they are good or bad,
They make me laugh every day
and when they leave I am sad.
I used to have an office job
every day filled with stress,
altho there was one good part-
I didn't have to wear a dress!
Now my stress is different
like when the dogs run away,
They don't mean any harm you see
they think its a fun game to play.
Or where did that cat go
I'm sure under the bed,
Nope-she went to the basement
now I have cobwebs on my head.
But when I look at those eyes
there is no getting upset,
and don't be fooled-they know
in my heart they did get!
Now my visits are done
and home I am bound,
where I already guessed-
my ornaments are spread all around.
As I walk by my tree
a face does appear,
Shey has climbed the tree again
to the top he is near.
Sarena awaits her cereal & milk,
Sidney tries to eat the plant,
They are the loves of my life,
I no longer bother to rant.
Max is missing some lite bulbs,
alas- he's not very smart,
he's waiting by the couch for Shey-
whose sitting behind him-inches apart!
I don't see Shaney & Suzi
they stay safe in the bedroom,
they have no use for that dog-thing
except to succumb him to doom.
I finally sit in my rocker
& Sammy jumps right up,
he lies in my arm like a baby
I rub his tummy like a pup!
As he looks in my eyes
he sums up what I know for sure,
with his paw he touches my cheek
with a love that is so pure.
I am truly blessed, not just now
but every day of the year,
with a love that is so powerful
I can't help but shed a tear.
I have the greatest gift of all
I am positive of that
& you only agree if you experience
the love of a dog or a cat.
So once again at this season
I thank all of you,
for sharing your pets
so I can love them too!
As I start my 10th year
I pray to all those above,
that I continue to be healthy
and able to spread my love.
I never doubt I make the right decisions,
each of my fluffies I absolutely treasure.
Sure I could spend my time elsewhere,
but caring for you is my real pleasure!
I am excited for the day
that I get to visit you,
and I come full of smootchys
& lots of huggys too!
I LOVE YOU ALL BUNCHES!
